Will this tent fit my vehicle?
Rooftop tents aren’t made for one specific vehicle, but your setup matters. You’ll need a solid roof rack that can safely hold both the tent and the people sleeping inside. Always check your vehicle manual for weight ratings.
We recommend heavy-duty crossbars that run left-to-right (max width 3.25″ for our included brackets). If your bars are wider, you’ll need alternative brackets. Also, make sure your factory side-to-side rails can handle the load.
Can I take my tent through a car wash?
Only if you’re aiming for a viral video of your tent getting torn off like it’s in a hurricane. So… no.
What materials is the tent made from?
The tent body uses durable polyester/cotton wind-resistant fabric, built to handle the elements.
Why is there moisture inside if the tent is waterproof?
It’s condensation, not a leak. When it’s warmer inside than outside, moisture builds up on walls, ceiling, poles, and floor. An anti-condensation mat helps reduce temperature differences, improves airflow, adds padding, and keeps mildew away. Keep your vents open—it makes a big difference.
Can I wash the mattress cover?
Yes—just remove and toss it in the wash.
Why no memory foam mattress option?
Cold weather turns memory foam into a brick, and it traps moisture (hello, mold). Since rooftop tents already battle condensation, we stick with high-density foam for comfort in all seasons.
Can I open the tent from either side of my vehicle?
Yes—the Ranger can unfold from the right or left side, or from a trailer.
Is all the mounting hardware included?
Yes—hardware and wrenches are included. Just have your roof racks ready and check their weight ratings before installing.
How many people can sleep inside?
Comfortably fits 2–3 adults. Small kids can sleep between adults or in an optional annex.
Is it easy to set up?
Compared to hard shells like the Alpha or Stealth—no. Compared to other soft shells—yes. After a little driveway practice, expect 10–15 minutes to set up, with most of that time spent adding window rods.
Will it hold up in wind and rain?
Yes. The tent fabric is waterproof, and it includes a rainfly for extended wet weather. When secured properly, it can handle strong winds.
Do I need to clean it every time I camp?
No. The travel cover keeps dust and debris out, but we recommend airing it out before each trip and brushing off the mattress protector.
Do I need to clean the inside after camping?
Yes. A quick sweep and airing-out keeps your tent fresh and mold-free.
Do I need to air it out?
Yes—always. Your body produces moisture while you sleep, and airing out prevents mildew.
